The GBIS and ECO4 Schemes are free because they are funded by the GREEN LEVY, which is about 8% of each household’s gas and electric bills. This levy, collected by energy companies, finances the schemes to provide free energy-saving installations. Southern Smart Energy ensures that homeowners benefit from these contributions, offering free installations to qualifying private homeowners to reduce carbon emissions and heating bills nationwide, entirely free of charge.

The boiler scheme project forms part of the Government funded ECO 4 Scheme, where local authorities and major energy providers work together to reduce carbon emissions and reduce heating bills nationwide. For qualifying properties, the boilers will be supplied and fitted FREE OF CHARGE. You must be a private homeowner to qualify.
If your boiler was installed before 2005 then it is not only inefficient, but you are spending too much money on your heating bills. Upgrading to an A rated boiler would save hundreds of pounds on your energy bills.
A-rated boilers are highly efficient, meaning they convert more of the fuel they consume into usable heat for your home. This increased efficiency can lead to significant savings on your energy bills compared to older, less efficient models
A-rated boilers produce fewer carbon emissions compared to older, less efficient models. By upgrading to an A-rated boiler, you can reduce your household’s carbon footprint and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
A-rated boilers often feature advanced technology and innovative design elements that result in more consistent and reliable heating performance. This means you can enjoy greater comfort and warmth in your home throughout the year.
For homeowners, installing a new, energy-efficient boiler can increase the value of your property. Potential buyers are often willing to pay more for homes with modern, eco-friendly heating systems, making your property more attractive on the market.
New boilers come with warranties and guarantees, providing you with peace of mind knowing that your heating system is covered in case of any issues. Additionally, A-rated boilers are typically more reliable and require less frequent maintenance, reducing the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns.
Upgrading to an A-rated boiler ensures that your home meets current energy efficiency standards and regulations. This can be important for compliance with building codes and regulations, as well as for future-proofing your home against potential changes in legislation.
